In the middle of my crisis I found myself constantly praying for my breakthrough and asking others to do the same. I would get frustrated fast and easily distracted while constantly questioning if God would hurry up and change my circumstances. My days would be constantly up and down and I would consistently try to find ways to justify (just a lie) that I was doing what was necessary.
As I was driving to an appointment this hit me like a ton of bricks, "so faith without works is dead also" James 2:26 (King James Version). Faith is the substance of things hoped for but evidence unseen. When we go through crisis we constantly are looking for a way out while learning the lessons that life is teaching, but what we fail to realize is that although we are looking for a way out some work is required. In other words believing is just not enough, and the work that we were putting out is not enough either. I like to think when a crisis comes it comes to challenge and change you for the better. A crisis requires you to dig deeper, it requires you to make some firm and solid decisions, it separates the weak from the strong or in other words it makes you change the company that you keep.
Because it is required to have a vision or a destined place in all that you plan to accomplish, having one set in your place of crisis is essential. Having this set allows you the ability to create a firm plan of action necessary to achieve the goal. This plan of action represents your needed work. Remember that any work that you put forth in your time of crisis should be an intent aim towards hitting your goal or mark of accomplishment. Complaints, frustration, and doubt are only catalyst towards pulling you off course. Most people tend to think that crisis is punishment but it isn't. Remember what a man thinks so is he. We are to live abundant lives but sometimes our poor choices can create a crisis. We must understand that the crisis isn't a punishment. The crisis is a learning tool to put you back on track but with greater knowledge, ability, strength, and resources. The sad thing about people in crisis is they tend to give up, die, and never see the positive come out of it.
Today I encourage you to change your thoughts concerning your crisis. Recognize that your crisis is short term and is truly depended on how quick you learn. Finally don't be afraid of who and what comes and goes, at the completion of your crisis restoration and recovery has to begin.
