Earned vs. Passive Income

 

 

Why do people break their necks everyday to go to a job to make a paycheck that only comes when they are able to work the job? Why is it that people build lives and lifestyles on this temporary income that we call jobs or careers today? Why is it that people depend on this income so much? This income that I am speaking of is earned income. It is your ability to work day in and day out to produce an income. This income is produced by working for someone or working for yourself. This is the most commonly sought after income because we are taught by our elders that you must go to work in order to have the necessities. Now don't get me wrong working is essential but when are we going to begin to work smart and not hard. People the curse is broken! Spending a lifetime working your fingers to the bone and never having enough for retirement or even being given the pink slip after years of service due to downsizing is not fun nor is it mandatory.

 

Why aren't people pursuing passive income? Matter of fact do people even know what passive income is? Passive income or often times referred to as residual income is income that comes to you every single month no matter: if you are well, laying in the bed, or simply just don't want to have anyone dictating to you. This income is produced after 1 strong transaction and continuously comes in month after month after month. Most people I believe don't look for passive income because either they do not have a clear understanding or knowledge of it, they have a fear, or they have tried to obtain it but used the wrong tools.

 

Passive income is so important in this economic environment because as stated before people are giving up years of service to a company to be asked to leave due to corporate hardships. The thought of job security at work has become a true past reality. Therefore one must use their earned income to diligently produce systems and tools for personal success. If you want to be truly financially prosperous you must have at least earned and passive income in place. I tell you no one needs a degree as a Rocket Scientist to know that unemployment does not pay enough money to sustain whatever lifestyle you currently have. Therefore instead of being reactive be proactive and plan as if tomorrow could be your last day of employment.

 

There are many systems available to produce passive income, and two of the most common systems used are 1.) real estate and 2.) multi-level marketing also known as MLM. Both systems are great systems if you properly decide your goals, study the system, and assess the risk.

 

We spend too much time waiting on a raise, hoping that the government would stop haggling, and playing victim to our circumstances. The true way to obtain financial prosperity is to take a look at your current lifestyle and thought process and begin to make changes. The reason why the percentage of rich is low is because not enough people are willing to change their mindset. Here is a paraphrase from a book that I love to read "there will always be the poor among us". This is true because only a few will take the steps to change their lives.
