Taking out your EMOTIONS!

As I have spent many years in the financial arena and assisting people with coming out of their hardships the one common factor whether male or female is they always say "I feel". We are too often time dictating and responding to our money and futures from a feeling. Feelings change by the minute. When making decisions based on what we feel for that moment disasters are then created. When addressing a payment, when addressing whether you need that new car, that new cell phone, that new house, and etc assess why is it needed or is it just a desire. Emotional spending and keeping up with the Jones' (whoever they are) keeps people in financial bondage and hardships. We can't blame the government or the banking industry for our own ignorance. Knowledge is power therefore get some power over your circumstance. Recognize when you are walking in an emotional place and stay out of the stores, don't even balance your checkbook, or cook a meal while you are there. Find something that will level you out to help you get into a less vulnerable place.

Here is another thing that comes up when assisting people "I don't want to pay them because they". Here is my thing, stop talking about what they did to you and look at this, did they lend you money or did they provide you a service. If your answer was yes to any of this then you owe, PAY UP! It does not matter whether they were nice, worked out arrangements, or whatever at the time. Payment is due! If you go to work you expect to be paid because whoever hired you completed paperwork with you and gave their word that for your services they will pay you. Whether there is a LLC or Corp behind your name you still have expenses that must be met.

Let's take emotions out of what we do and make sound logical decisions based not on emotion.

Debt Will Not Let You Go?

About a month or so ago I was on the phone with a dear friend of mine. We were discussing some dynamics within our family. During our discussion she made a comment. That comment was "and here comes debt again". For the first time out of 20 some odd years of working in the financial arena, I heard something different. When she made that statement I no longer looked at debt the same. I began to reflect back on why it was important to God to use Elisha to perform a miracle for a woman whose husband died and sons were going to have to go into slavery (2 Kings 4:1-7). As I began to look deeper into this scripture it became evident to me. God does not want us to be in debt. It places our daily life functions, our livelihood, and our future in the hands of someone else. It creates stress, worry, and anxiety. Will This Ever End

Anxiety noun.      a feeling of worry, nervousness, and unease typically about an imminent event or something without a certain outcome. (Google) During a time of restoration anxiety is sure to show up. This emotion will cause an immense amount of worry and it stems from fear of the unknown. Often times you will find yourself in a place of wondering "will this ever end". The reason why you say this is because it seems like your situation is lingering for a long time, but know there is healing and change happening in restoration which can take a while.  When one is coming out of any type of bondage, for the sake of this article we will be speaking of financial bondage, there is a time of acceptance that must take place.
